Day 29

Yeah I am up to date! Here is a diaper cover and a matching hat that I made. I am hoping it fits the newborn that is entering this world very soon!

Day 28

Jackson was very content with a yogurt drink. The drink went all down his shirt so once shirt came off the yogurt went all up his face. I couldn't resist the pictures!

Day 27

My poor baby boy is sick. Reason why I haven't been on to upload. Poor baby he doesn't even get a break from the camera when he is sick :(

Day 26

Jackson LOVES to get into my shower and play. I really don't understand it but I guess I don't need to. I just have to watch out for the trucks when I go to take a shower. :)

Day 25

This is a mommy brag moment! My Miss Rylie has been homeschooling this year with me and learning to read! She is 4 (5 in April) and is reading wonderfully! This is just a close up of her using her "reading finger." I am so proud of her!

Day 24

BA-NAA=na

I made a hanging cocoon yesterday. This was a test one with cheapo yarn just to get an idea of how I was going to make it once I used nice yarn. The hat I also made for a newborn shoot I have coming up!

Day 23

Easy Bake Oven! Oh my how I remember using my oven when I was a kid, and now I am cooking in the easy bake with my four year old! WOW!

Ice- day 22

I turned my 50 mm around to get a close up of ice and snowflakes. The snow flakes were SOOOO hard. This is the only one that kind of turned out.

19,20,21

I just love this picture of Jackson! He loves to fly on my feet so I actually was able to take a picture while he was up in the air! Not great technically but he likes to fall off and drool on me (hence the drool in the pic). So, between trying to keep him from falling off and drool on the lens it worked for me!

We have had some amazing snow storms this week. Starting on Monday night into today. These icicles were long enough for Rylie to knock off from our back door. This is the only picture I was able to get actually since she knocked them off as I was trying to meter my lighting.

Speaking of storms... Today was the day our town has been preparing for. We were hit with two storms that dumped about ten inches on us and the storm today through Saturday is supposed to bring 2-3 feet. So this picture is taken at 3:00 pm and the third storm this week started about noon.

This picture was taken at 9:00pm. We think we have gotten about nine inches from the 3:00 picture to the 9:00 picture.

Photo 16, 17 and 18

Lets start with photo 16:

This is my fridge one of the MANY reasons I hate it! There is no room to have groceries and leftovers. The door holders are duct taped together and things are constantly falling out. We eat left over every three nights or so and this is what my fridge looks like on a full week of cooking! GRRR...

Photo 17:

There are a couple for today first is Miss Rylie. She is the diva in the house! She is wearing hills, skirt, tights, and putting on her winter gear to go play in the snow.

Jackson and daddy were playing with the truck and Rob was showing jack how to fill and dump the truck load. Here Jackson is watching intently!

Bath Time!

Today Day 18:

It's 5:00 and both kids have cuddled in to watch a movie. I have never seen them do this this early in the evening so I thought I better catch it! Who knows how long it will last!

A Day Late Posted...

I was so mad at myself yesterday! The kids and I went on our two hour road trip to get to the nearest town for good shopping. I was so excited to take ictures of them jumping in the bouncy houses where I take them if they are good.

Well, we are driving and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous! Its 8:30 am and the sun is shining through snow/frost covered tree, and the sky is Colorado blue not a cloud in the sky. So I pull over to make our drive that much longer I am going to take pictures of the beauty. I turn on the camera and what do I get.... NO CARD! You have got to be kidding me, I forgot to put my memory card in. So I settle with taking a picture of something I can get close to (since all I have is my camera phone) that shows the frost, weeds! GRRRR.... oh well here is my picture for the day :(

Day 14

Today's picture with some play in my editing skills... honestly what do you think? My hubby doesn't like it. He says his head looks like an alien????

Any takers want to agree with or against him?

Day 10

Lots of pictures today :)
We took the kiddos ice skating and Rylie Loves it! This is her third time ever and you would never know it. She is such a dare devil!

Daddy reading to Jackson! He loves his story time at night.
Jack was throwing a huge tantrum over something silly and I was trying to get pictures. He was getting more mad with me trying to take his picture!

A Symbol of Love

This picture was taken with my lense off and turned around backwards. So, I really needed three of four hands for this, one to hold the lense in place, two to hold my camera, three to change shutter speed, and four to manually adjust the focus since its not on the camera. Anyways turning the tense around creates a picture that is very up close and personal to what you are photographing. I haven't attempted this much and thought I would play today. Well, an hour later I have a picture I am somewhat happy with. Lots of room for improvement... but hey, can't be perfect on the first try.

January 8th- Sharing

I love when I can sit on the floor and enjoy my kids. Today was one of those days. They actually played nicely together and big sister helped Jackson put together a puzzle. I was so proud of her and how nicely she was helping him. Here is a picture of their little hands working together!

January 7th

I took this last night while knitting in bed but didn't want to get up and post.

This is my newest love and yes I brought it in bed :)

Where's My Belly?

Jackson's newest thing is to find his belly and then to find others bellies. I had to post these pictures for the picture today! Enjoy!

I can't stop with Jack so here is a picture of Rylie modeling my hat that I knitted. She is not impressed that I am interrupting her dress up time to try on a hat.

Tuesday January 5th

Wow, what a day. It took everything in me to get out of my chair and up from my knitting to come post. Its only day 5 I can't be tired yet :) I have two pictures today since I promised a dinner picture that will come. But, I couldn't resist posting my monthly shopping trip.

Getting paid once a month takes a lot of planning and cooking is a huge monthly plan. My two kids and I get to grocery at 3:00, in purse I have my backup, fruit snacks, suckers, and knowing we will hit the free cookies I think we can make it through. I load the kiddos up into "the bean" driving car and we are off. In the grocery store for over an hour with an 18 month old and 4 year old is so not fun! They were on their last leg and in the dairy my cart is piled high and I am doing the balancing act to get the on sale 20 yogurts on top of everything as they are falling off the top and exploding along with my kids exploding out of the front of the cart! It was a sight, they opened a lane just for me and loaded up two carts of groceries and helped me out of the store. I have to say that is a first, but it is the last for this month anyways! So here is a picture of most of the bags just for fun :) All the freezer stuff was already in the garage for the deep freezer so this is just cabinet and fridge.

My grocery nights are always an easy fix with a cheater chicken. While in the store I picked up a rotisserie chicken and created a tomatilla chicken tostado, gratitude of Rachel Ray. Although, I did alter this recipe to my likings :) I have also found I am no food photographer so bear with me!

Ingredients:
Chicken shredded
Pepper Jack Cheese grated
1 Cup tomatillo salsa
Lime
Refried Beans
Cilantro
4 Green Onions
1 t Cumin
6 inch tortillas
Preheat oven to 425*
Lightly brush tortillas with olive oil and put in over until golden about 6-8 minutes
While tortillas are in oven heat skillet with olive oil and cook green onions shredded chicken also throw cumin and salsa in. Once warmed remove from heat zest a lime and juice lime into chicken mixture.
Beans- saute a couple chopped garlic gloves in a pan with a half can or so rotel and add beans. This is optional with beans I was in a hurry so I didn't cook my beans tonight just straight from the can, but this is how I would rather cook my beans.
Take tortillas out of oven spread beans on shell, scoop chicken mixture on top, then top with cheese. Put back in the oven until cheese is melted. Take out of oven and top with cilantro and avocados. MMMM Enjoy!

I love my Baby Blues!

I wanted to show off my kiddos for the picture today. Only problem... I can never choose just one picture of those kids! Words will never explain these two, and how much love I have for them!

Day Three: Teacher's Tip

This is to all my fellow teachers out there! I have found the best way to organize my classroom books. I spent all summer organizing and labeling and I have to say it has been the best spent hours of organization ever! Today I added about 50 books into the library and decided I would make this my picture of the day!

I have baskets for multiple subjects of books. Some of my subjects are Advanced Chapter Books, Early Readers, Junie B Jones, Magic School Bus, Mercer Mayor, Robert Munsch, Leveled Readers, and Picture Books. I have then put a colored sticky with a number or letters on the sticky. Example, all the books by Robert Munsch are in a basket with an index card with his name and a yellow dot with a RM on the dot. Then every book in the basket has a yellow RM dot. This tells the kids which basket the books belong in. Each basket has a laminated index card with the corresponding dot and code.
Here is a picture of what the Non-Fiction book basket looks like.
I hope this helps all those teachers out there organize those messy librarys :) I was so tired of books being ruined from falling off shelves. I was asked muliple questions a day about where is such and such book or what books can I read? Now I can just say " Jessica, you need to be in an ER book not the Chapter books." Easy managment on leveling books and the kids can find their books easily!
ENJOY!!!

January 1st and 2nd!

Happy 2010! Wow where is time going? I am so excited to blog this year so at the end of the year I can answer that question.

We started off this year in my hubby's home town. Midnight struck and this was the first picture of the year! We played cards with my sister in law and her hubby and family. Thinking we wouldn't stay up till midnight, we sure surpassed that time! What a great way to bring in the new year!

This picture is a tribute to my hubby! I spent all weekend trying to get some good pictures of elk. I even went out in 12 degree weather standing on hay stacks waiting for the elk to come in. I'm sure since we were out there they didn't come that night, so no pictures. We went out on 4 wheelers, no pictures... today right before leaving town we see a herd. (well, father in law tells us there is a herd by the trees.) We drive over there and scare them off once again... we gun it and catch them while they are crossing the road.

Oh and Miss Rylie, 4, in the back seat says "hurry daddy grab your gun. Shoot them before they run away!"
